ever since i “seriously” picked up a camera, to tell stories & capture truth, rather than just take snapshots … i decided it was very important to have my family portraits taken every year. i’m not taking quickie sessions at sears or any place you can drop-in to just capture a stage of growth, but rather custom photography by a photographer who will take the time to tell our story & portray us as we are, as imperfect as we are. this year i was blessed have the talented tracy tesmer be that photographer. i can’t even begin to describe to you internet how moved i am by the images she created for us. seeing my family through her eyes has been a gift that won’t be forgotten for a long time to come.
i met tracy on flickr & hired her to design my logo for my budding photography business. something about her images portrayed truth! we became internet acquaintences & actually never never talked live (as they say in the corporate world) for over a year, until she stayed with my family (before returning from new england to houston) this past june. she is someone who is doing & pursing exactly what she was destined to do. what you see with tracy is what you get. she is easy to be around & seeing the world through her eyes or rather experiencing it with her has inspired me in ways that i will never be able to describe. i now am lucky to call her a special friend.
here is a shot of her doing her thing at the guggenheim. her images can be seen here.

& because i have to share, these are a few of my favorite images that she shot of my family. some even brought tears to my eyes. if you are interested in seeing more, click here.

i can only hope that i make the families i am blessed to photograph feel half as happy, fulfilled, special, beautiful, loved, unique as tracy made us feel. thank you tracy!! come back & visit soon!

[...] Here is a look at another of my family’s portrait sessions with the lovely Tracy Tesmer. And let’s just say Kyra chose this of all days to not nap. [...]
