York Family

It has quite a bit of time since this family photography session took place. Enough time that not long ago my beautiful friend Ashley said to me … They have changed soooo, very much.  One’s hair is not so shaggy, the other now wears glasses and the third just plain ole’ grew up and doesn’t look so little any more.

It is said so often that time passes quickly, that we need to slow down appreciate and revel in the moment because before we know it that time will be gone.

I’m so ridiculously grateful to have incredible images of my own family and our life changes/stages captured by not only myself, but fellow photographers.  I consider those images a gift. A gift we make sure to give to ourselves!

And I am ridiculously grateful of the families that I have been able to photograph. I consider my session and resulting images a very important gift that I am able to give.  Photography is my way to bottle up time so that other can cherish and relive it once again once it has passed.

The pre-short hair, that moment of shyness, all three kids laughing, clinging to mom and the ability to together as husband and wife lift and swing a small, but growing body might appear blurry in the mind as a few years go by.

In this moment this family had one boy with awesome shaggy hair and the cutest mischievous smile, another with gleaming eyes that they had not yet realized needed glasses and a daughter who still looked like a little girl. This family will never look the same.

This moment is bottled up to savor once again.
